I drew wild plants from everywhere but mostly the ones from my front balcony or from places I am familiar with. I took peculiar angles, which I found simply captivating, to demonstrate a state of unconventional beauty. There is this contrast between familiarity that comes from the places and unfamiliarity from the object itself in one frame, which really draws my attention.

Wild plants remind me of the many values of life, some of which are the same as the values of the Indonesian culture. Indonesian people who live abroad are like wild plants. Despite living in a place far from where we came from and looking different from the surroundings, we keep on growing. Even in the most unexpected place or situation, we get along and hold on.
